Apple announces special event for September 12

Apple just announced they'll be hosting a special even next Wednesday, September 12 presumably for the iPhone 5. Check out the story here on The Loop.

But why am I talking about this? Because of the invitation of course. Check out how the shadow on the 12 is actually a 5. No mystery there... Nicely done, Apple (as usual) 

However, does this mean they're calling it "iPhone 5"? Since the new iPad is called "The New iPad", it seems a bit strange that they'll keep the number convention for the iPhone, no? 

The new iPad

I just pulled the trigger on the new iPad.  I've been itching for one since the first version but could never really justify the purchase.  Now that I've become more comfortable in my field I feel like I can really put it to good use with tools like the new iPhoto for iPad and Photoshop Touch. 

I went big- got the 64GB version. So I splurged a little...
